Won 1966 News-Piedmont Relays 120-yard high hurdles at Furman (considered one of the best meets in South Carolina)
Won 1966 N.C. Junior Olympics 120-yard high hurdles and 180-yard low hurdles
Won 1966 Southeastern Junior Track & Field Championships in Atlanta, 120-yard high hurdles and 180-yard low hurdles (setting a record of 19.4 in the 180-yard low hurdles)
